The Mahakumbh or (Kumbh Mela ) is one of the largest and most significant religious gatherings in the world celebrated by Hindus in India it is a festival where devotees gather to take a holy dip in sacred rivers, believing it will purity their sins and lead to salvation  . The event is deeply rooted in Hindu mythology and tradition .







The story of Kumbh Mela' 
The story of Kumbh Mela is based on mythological . This story revolves around the war between the gods and demons over the Amrit kalash during the Samudra Manthan  .    In this war some drops of Amrit fell on the earth at the places where Kumbh Mela is organized 

Mythological story related to Kumbh Mela 
*According to mythology.  Lord Vishnu was carrying a pot full of nectar .
*The pot of nectar emerged during the churning of the ocean.
*It this war drops of nectar fell in Haridwar, Prayagraj, Ujjain and Nashik.
*Kumbh Mela is organized at these four places.
*The world kumbha comes from Sanskrit meaning pitcher or vessel.
*Kumbh Mela is organised every 12 years.
*Maha Kumbh Mela is organised every 144 years.
